The table above relates to all the electricity that Opus Energy Limited supplied to SME customers during the 12 months ending 31 March 2024. Please note there’s a small percentage of non-renewable power within our fuel mix that’s due to:
- Mainly transmission and distribution losses (a small reduction in the voltage transmitted across the network from power generators to those consuming power).
- A small amount of energy supply to customers with old legacy contracts that didn’t specify renewable power.

Our fuel mix
As part of Drax, One of the UK’s largest suppliers of renewable energy to business, we back each megawatt hour (MWh) of the renewable source electricity we supply with a certificate from Ofgem. The energy regulator issues Renewable Energy Guarantee of Origin (REGO) certificates for generation taking place in the UK.
The energy regulator – Ofgem – issues Renewable Energy certificates for generation that occur in the UK. A proportion of the electricity we supply comes from Drax Power Station, near Selby in North Yorkshire. Predominantly, the plant uses sustainable biomass sourced from established, responsibly-managed working forests. We also have power purchase agreements with around 2,300 independent, UK-based generators.
When you’re on supply with Opus Energy, your contract is with either Opus Energy (Corporate) Limited – if you’re a corporate customer – or Opus Energy Limited if you’re a SME customer. Please refer to your bill to check which category you’re in, then see the relevant fuel mix disclosure (as above).
